OMC Hiwassee River City Credit Union

Hiwassee River Credit Union was a design-build project, completed in partnership with Franklin Architects. We transformed the site of a former Sonic restaurant into a modern, full-service banking facility. The existing structure was demolished, the TDOT entrance was improved, and the site was completely redeveloped with new landscaping, rock-themed features, and sod.
The wood-framed building features a distinctive exterior of Nichiha architectural panels, stacked stone, expansive glass, and stone-wrapped steel columns at the awnings and drive-through canopy. Locally inspired stonework reflects the region’s natural geography and carries into the interior through stacked-stone accents. Glass walls, terrazzo flooring, and PAC-CLAD metal details reinforce the facility’s clean, contemporary design.
The P&C team coordinated closely with the credit union and its specialized equipment vendors to integrate the vault, kiosks, ATMs, drive-through systems, and other banking technology. Additional features include privacy film, access-controlled doors, occupancy-based lighting sensors, and HVAC controls that automatically adjust according to room use. The completed facility combines regional character, modern architecture, security, and energy-efficient building systems in a welcoming environment for members and employees.
